MGIS Launches WAC–i Programme with Faculty Training Across Ahmedabad and Jaipur Campuses

AHMEDABAD, GUJARAT | 12th APRIL 2026 — Mahatma Gandhi International School (MGIS) has marked a significant milestone in its journey of educational innovation with the launch of the WAC–i (Western Australian Curriculum – International) programme across both its Ahmedabad and Jaipur campuses. As one of the pioneer institutions to introduce this programme in the country, MGIS continues to strengthen its position as a leader in progressive, future-ready education.

The pedagogical approach at MGIS—anchored in Project-Based Learning (PBL) and Guided Reflective Learning (GRL)—is closely aligned with the philosophy of the School Curriculum and Standards Authority, Government of Western Australia. This synergy ensures that students experience a holistic, inquiry-driven, and skill-based learning environment.

The launch was accompanied by an intensive faculty training led by Jodie Matthews, Principal Consultant for International Education, Schools Curriculum and Standards Authority, along with the WAC–i team, conducted at the MGIS campus. The training brought together educators from both Ahmedabad and Jaipur, creating a collaborative platform to explore curriculum design, pedagogy, and implementation strategies aligned with global standards. Komal Modi will lead the programme implementation at the Ahmedabad campus, while Farah, an alumna of MGIS, will lead it at the Jaipur campus.

Speaking on the occasion, the Head of School, Ravinder Kaur, emphasised the school’s vision of personalised learning:
“Customised education empowers every child to design their own learning journey and define their future in meaningful ways.”

Adding to this perspective, Minoo Joshi, Director – Pedagogy at MGIS, shared:
“When every child is encouraged and empowered to imagine, explore and experiment, learning stops being a chore and starts becoming their story. Inclusive and experiential education gives them the space to discover how they think.”

Senior Manager, Research and Development at MGIS, Meenakshi Ganeri Wala further highlighted the importance of innovation in education, stating, “Research and innovation are critical, as we are preparing students for professions that may not yet exist.”

A key strength of the WAC–i programme is its strong alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, making its integration into the Indian education context both seamless and impactful. MGIS, already a well-established centre for Cambridge, BTEC, and International Baccalaureate programmes, sees the introduction of WAC–i as another significant addition, further enriching its diverse academic offerings.

With this launch, MGIS will soon open admissions for Grades K to 12 under the WAC–i programme, offering students an internationally benchmarked curriculum that prepares them for higher education and future careers in a rapidly evolving world.

This initiative reinforces MGIS’s commitment to continuous research, innovation, and excellence in education, setting new benchmarks for schools across the country.
