AHMEDABAD, GUJARAT | 28th SEPTEMBER 2026 | The Ahmedabad chapter of the Curtain Raiser for India Energy Week (IEW) 2027 was organised at the Auditorium, ONGC Institute of Reservoir Studies, Chandkheda, Ahmedabad, on Monday, 28 September 2026, as part of the nationwide build-up to the forthcoming edition of India Energy Week.
The Ahmedabad programme was connected virtually with the main Curtain Raiser ceremony held in Kolkata, bringing together dignitaries, industry representatives and energy professionals to mark the beginning of the journey towards India Energy Week 2027.
The programme in Ahmedabad was graced by Mr. Om Prakash Sinha, Director (Exploration), ONGC, along with other senior officials and representatives from the energy sector.
India Energy Week 2027 is scheduled to be held from 28–31 January 2027 at the New Town Convention Centre, Kolkata. Held under the patronage of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India, and organised by the Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry (FIPI), IEW has emerged as India’s flagship international energy platform, bringing together policymakers, business leaders, innovators and investors from across the global energy value chain.
The 2027 edition is expected to bring together more than 75,000 energy professionals and 700+ international exhibitors, creating a major platform for showcasing innovation, facilitating strategic engagement and building long-term partnerships. The event will focus on the critical priorities shaping the global energy landscape, including energy security, affordability, sustainability, decarbonisation and technological innovation.
IEW 2027 will also feature specialised areas covering key segments such as renewable energy, hydrogen, biofuels, LNG, city gas distribution, petrochemicals, digitalisation and AI, Make in India and net-zero solutions, highlighting emerging technologies and opportunities across both conventional and new-energy ecosystems.
The Ahmedabad Curtain Raiser provided an opportunity for stakeholders to connect with the larger vision of IEW 2027 and reinforced the importance of dialogue, innovation and collaboration in addressing evolving energy challenges. The programme reflected India’s growing role in global energy conversations and its endeavour to balance expanding energy access with the transition towards a secure, affordable and sustainable energy future.
