GUJARAT, AHMEDABAD | 05th NOVEMBER 2025 — Karnavati University will have the privilege to confer the Honorary degree of Doctor of Literature (Honoris Causa) upon Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, PVSM, AVSM, the 28th Chief of the Air Staff of the Indian Air Force, on Thursday in the campus situated in Gujarat’s capital Gandhinagar.
The felicitation is an integral part of the university’s sixth convocation ceremony, an annual proceeding at a time when over 1,400 students will be graduating and charting a new phase of their careers.
Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh is a distinguished military leader & member of the Chiefs of Staff Committee, the National Security Council, and the Defence Acquisition Council. Recipient of the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal and the Param Vishisht Seva Medal, he is a Qualified Flying Instructor and Experimental Test Pilot with more than 5,000 hours of flying experience on fixed and rotary wing aircraft.
Among his many acclaimed operations stands Exercise Tarang Shakti, the nation’s largest- ever multinational air exercise- an initiative that showcased India’s growing aerospace capabilities and international defence collaboration.
The president of Karnavati University, Mr. Ritesh Hada is honoured to confer the honorary degree upon Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, PVSM, AVSM as part of its nurturing philosophy towards nation building with vision, dedication, discipline, and an unyielding pursuit of excellence.
The university’s inherent culture to believe in India’s defence capabilities has resonated for many years, as in the past, the university has also been honoured by the presence of Admiral R Hari Kumar, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, ADC, Chief of the Naval Staff, Indian Navy, and Gen. Manoj Mukund Naravane, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, SM, ADC, the then Chief of the Army Staff, Indian Army, making it the only university to host top leadership from all wings of India’s defence forces.
The campus is a thriving space of over 9,000 students from the fields of law, dentistry, design, business management, liberal arts, mass communication, engineering, and technology, and they will be graduating after an academic term.
