HCG Rajkot Celebrates Cancer Awareness Day with Survivor Meet

RAJKOT | 04th FEBRUARY 2026 — On the occasion of World Cancer Day, HCG Hospitals Rajkot observed the day with a Cancer Awareness programme. The programme included a survivor meet, held in the presence of HCG doctors, bringing together patients who have successfully completed their cancer treatment at HCG. The event focused on spreading awareness, encouraging early diagnosis, and celebrating life after cancer.

Through the event, the hospital also felicitated the recovered patients, acknowledging their courage and resilience. While addressing the patients, HCG doctors shared messages on cancer prevention, emphasised the importance of regular health check-ups, and provided informative insights from a medical perspective to help reduce fear and stigma associated with cancer. The event encouraged people to replace fear and stigma around cancer with education, awareness, and timely action. It held an interactive session between doctors, survivors, and attendees, reinforcing the message that early diagnosis and awareness can not just save life but also help to live a normal life.

During the interaction, survivors shared their personal journeys, speaking about the emotional shock of diagnosis, the challenges of treatment, and the support they received from doctors, caregivers, and family members. Several patients highlighted how timely medical intervention and continuous guidance played a key role in their recovery. They expressed gratitude for the care and reassurance provided by the medical team throughout their treatment.

Addressing the gathering Dr. Suraj Nath, COO, HCG Hospitals Rajkot said, “Fear often delays diagnosis and limits treatment options, directly impacting outcomes. Early detection significantly improves the chances of recovery and allows patients to access less aggressive and more effective treatment pathways. Prevention, early diagnosis, and supportive care must remain central to addressing India’s growing cancer burden.”

Through the initiative, HCG Hospitals Rajkot reiterated its commitment to patient-centred cancer care.
